What is Woodland Confectionary?
A confectionary is a place where sweets are made and sold, and Woodland Confectionary is a whimsical candy shop that uses inspiration and whimsy from the forests and fields to curate and craft unique and high quality treats.
Do you make all of this stuff?
No, I make the chocolates you'll find in boxes and some solid chocolate novelties, but I'm fortunate to have access to other top quality companies and makers who craft delicious candies, specialty food ingredients, cocktail enhancements, and whimsical greeting cards, stickers, and pins.
I am very picky about what the shop carries. It needs to be good. That's the first thing. It needs to be something unique, reminiscent of old-fashioned candy shops, whimsical, food and/or woodland related. Bonus points if the items are handcrafted, sustainably made/sourced, woman-owned, & locally-made. Purchasing these items not only helps me just as much as purchasing my own handcrafted products, it helps other small businesses.
Shipping? How do you handle that?
We do flat rate shipping based on location. If it is going somewhere where the temperature in the next week is going to be above 75 degrees, please select the HOT option, which will add ice packs and insulation to the packaging. However, there is still no guarantee it will arrive in pristine, unmelted condition unless you want to overnight it. We will email you to give you more info on that option.
Items are shipped in recyclable cardboard boxes with shredded aspen and recycled paper shred and tissue paper filler. Once the tape is removed, the rest of the packaging can be added to your compost pile or, better yet, set out in the woods, filled with fruits, seeds, and nuts, and left as a winter gift to the Natural cycle.
Inventory and Items that are Sold Out?
Try as I might, I am not a machine, and make everything by hand. There is certainly a chance we will sell out of some things. We try to keep inventory up to date, but it is possible that we sell out in the shop before we can update the website. That being said, as soon as we find out of an inventory issue, we will contact you right away to set up a replacement or to strike it from your order.
